Morrígan, die große, formwandelnde Phantomkönigin der keltischen Mythologie, war - unter anderem - die Schutzherrin des Todes, des Krieges, der Rache, des Schicksals, der Magie, der Weissagung, der Pferde und der Nacht. Sie soll in der Gestalt eines Raben über das Schlachtfeld geflogen sein, an der Spitze einer Armee untoter Soldaten, und Einfluss auf den Ausgang der Schlacht gehabt haben.

The Morrigan – the great, shape-shifting phantom queen of Celtic mythology – was the patron goddess of many things; variously death, war, revenge, fate, magic, prophecy, horses and the night all fell under her sphere of influence. She was said to have taken the form of the raven to fly over the battlefield, leading an army of undead soldiers, influencing the direction of the fight and deciding its outcome. The Morrigan had two other aspects, Nemain and Badb, who presided over the fury and venom of the combat respectively. Once the battle was over and the survivors had left the field, the Morrigan claimed her “acorn crop” – the heads of the slain as her trophies. Warriors aspired to bravery and heroism to gain the goddess’ favour and secure victory.

Morrigan, la grande reine fantôme métamorphe de la mythologie celtique, était la déesse de nombreuses choses, parmi lesquelles la mort, la guerre, la vengeance, le destin, la magie, la prophétie, les chevaux et la nuit. On raconte qu'elle prenait la forme d'un corbeau volant vers le champ de bataille à la tête d'une armée de soldats morts-vivants, influençant l'issue de l'affrontement. Morrigan avait deux avatars, Nemain et Bodb, qui veillaient respectivement sur la frénésie et la violence du combat. À la fin du combat, une fois que les survivants avaient quitté le champ de bataille, Morrigan faisait sa « récolte de glands » en récupérant les têtes des victimes pour s'en servir de trophées. Les guerriers aspiraient à des actes de bravoure et d'héroïsme afin de s'assurer les faveurs de la déesse et la victoire.

Si diceva che avesse assunto la forma di un corvo per volare sul campo di battaglia e guidare un esercito di morti viventi, influenzando l’andamento della battaglia e decidendone l’esito. La Morrigan aveva due aspetti, Nemain e Badb, che presiedevano rispettivamente alla furia e all’astio del combattimento. Una volta finita la battaglia e quando i sopravvissuti avevano lasciato il campo, la Morrigan reclamava il suo “raccolto di ghiande”, cioè le teste dei caduti come trofeo. I guerrieri aspiravano al coraggio e all’eroismo per guadagnarsi i favori della dea e assicurarsi la vittoria.

Bohyně Morrigan – slavná královna z keltské mytologie, schopná měnit svou podobu – byla patronkou mnoha různých věcí: do její sféry vlivu spadala mimo jiné smrt, válka, pomsta, osud, magie, proroctví, koně a noc. Tvrdilo se, že na sebe často bere podobu havrana a vznáší se nad bojištěm v čele armády nemrtvých vojáků, čímž ovlivňuje směr bitvy a rozhoduje o jejím výsledku. Morrigan měla dva další aspekty, Nemain a Badb, z nichž jedna měla moc nad bojovou zuřivostí a druhá nad zlobou. Když po skončení bitvy přeživší opustili bojiště, přicházela Morrigan sklidit „úrodu žaludů“ – brala si hlavy zabitých jako trofeje. Válečníci konali statečné a hrdinské skutky, aby si získali přízeň bohyně a zajistili si tak vítězství.

Morrigan – celtycka bogini o wielu kształtach – była patronką licznych zjawisk, m.in. śmierci, wojny, zemsty, przeznaczenia, magii, przepowiedni, koni i nocy. Legenda głosiła, iż zwykła unosić się nad polem bitwy pod postacią kruka, dowodząc zastępami nieumarłych żołnierzy i tym samym wpływając na wynik starcia. Morrigan znana była pod dwoma postaciami – Nemain i Badb, podczas bitwy będącymi ucieleśnieniem gniewu i jadu. Po bitwie Morrigan zbierała krwawe żniwo – głowy poległych, które stanowiły jej trofea. Każdy wojownik pragnący chwały i zwycięstwa musiał wpierw wkupić się w jej łaski.

Кельтская богиня Морриган, призрачная королева-оборотень, была весьма разносторонней. Ее считали покровительницей смерти, войны, мести, судьбы, магии, пророчеств, коней и ночи. Согласно легенде, она летала над полями сражений, обернувшись вороном, и повелевала армией мертвых. Два других аспекта Морриган, носивших имена Немайн и Бадб, символизировали ярость и горечь битвы. Стремясь завоевать расположение богини и получить победу из ее рук, воины демонстрировали отчаянную храбрость и героизм. Другая легенда гласит, что после завершения битвы и ухода всех ее участников Морриган собирала "урожай желудей", забирая головы павших в качестве трофеев.
