All of this changed when a baby washed up on the shore over a thousand years ago. His name was Mordred and war was in his blood. His early years were spent running with gangs, his teens leading them. By fourteen he was a warlord in his own right, by eighteen he had one of the most feared armies known. By twenty, he claimed himself King. History of this time is sketchy but it seems likely that Mordred did not achieve all of this unaided. A detailed study of the histories reveals references to a female advisor and several scholars quietly suspect it was her and not Mordred who came up with the revolutionary tactics and armour that made his forces unbeatable in combat. Such thoughts are never spoken aloud however, and since the time of King Melehan all of the original texts of the time have been locked away.

Mais les choses furent bouleversées lorsqu’un nouveau-né s’échoua sur la côte il y a plus de mille ans. Il s’appelait Mordred et la guerre affluait dans son sang. Il passa ses premières années dans des bandes, ses aînés adolescents à la tête de celles-ci. À l’âge de quatorze ans, il devint un seigneur de guerre à part entière et, à dix-huit ans, il possédait une des armées les plus craintes de l’histoire. À ses vingt ans, il s’autoproclama roi. L’histoire de cette époque est relativement vague mais il est peu probable que Mordred ait réalisé tous ces exploits à lui seul. Une étude détaillée des récits fait mention d’une conseillère, et certains érudits sous-entendent que les tactiques révolutionnaires et armures qui rendaient ses troupes imbattables au combat proviendraient d’elle, et non de Mordred. Toutefois, aucune de ces pensées n’est jamais exprimée à voix haute et, depuis le règne du roi Melehan, tous les textes originaux ont été enfermés.

Mit zwanzig ernannte er sich selbst zum König. Diese Zeiten sind nur vage überliefert, doch scheint Mordred all dies nicht ohne Hilfe erreicht zu haben. Eine eingehende Untersuchung der Geschichte enthüllt Hinweise auf eine Beraterin, und so mancher Gelehrte vermutet, dass sie, und nicht Mordred, die revolutionären Taktiken und Rüstungen ersonnen hatte, die seine Streitkräfte im Kampf unbesiegbar gemacht hatten. Jedoch werden solche Vermutungen niemals laut geäußert, und seit den Tagen von König Melehan befinden sich die Originaltexte hinter Schloss und Riegel.

Todo esto cambió cuando un bebé llegó arrastrado por la marea más de mil años antes. Se llamaba Mordred y llevaba la guerra en la sangre. Cuando era pequeño se pasaba todo el rato andando con vándalos y cuando en su época adolescente ya los lideraba. A los catorce, era un señor de la guerra por derecho propio y a los dieciocho poseía uno de los ejércitos más temibles jamás conocidos. A los veinte, se autoproclamó rey. Es solo un apunte general de esta época, pero todo apunta a que Mordred no consiguió todo esto sin ayuda. Un estudio detallado de las historias revela referencias a una consejera femenina y varios eruditos sospechan con cautela que se trataba de ella y no de Mordred, que trajo consigo las tácticas y armaduras revolucionarias que hicieron su ejército invencible en combate. Tales ideas jamás se dijeron en voz alta y, desde los tiempos del rey Melehan, todos los textos originales de esta época han sido guardados bajo llave.

Wszystko to się zmieniło, gdy tysiąc lat temu u wybrzeży znaleziono pewne niemowlę – chłopca. Było mu na imię Mordred, a wojnę miał we krwi. Jako dziecko spędzał czas z grupami rzezimieszków, jako nastolatek już im przewodził. W wieku czternastu lat sam był już watażką, a mając lat osiemnaście dowodził jedną z najstraszliwszych armii. Zanim skończył dwadzieścia lat, obwołał się Królem. Relacja o tych czasach jest dosyć szczątkowa, ale niewykluczone, że Mordred nie osiągnął tego wszystkiego samodzielnie. Bardziej skrupulatne badania historyczne ujawniają wzmianki o doradzającej mu kobiecie, a kilku badaczy nieśmiało podejrzewa, że to ona, a nie Mordred, była autorem rewolucyjnej taktyki i zbroi, dzięki którym dowodzone przez niego oddziały były niepokonane w bitwie. Tego rodzaju poglądy nie są jednak nigdy wypowiadane na głos, a od czasów Króla Melehana wszystkie rękopisy z tamtego okresu są trzymane pod kluczem.

Еще в раннем детстве он примкнул к одной из банд, а подростком – уже возглавлял ее. К четырнадцати годам Мордред был полноценным военачальником, к восемнадцати – обладал одной из самых внушительных армий Старого света. К двадцати он объявил себя Королем. История тех времен плохо дошла до нас, но похоже, что Мордред добился своего положения не без посторонней помощи. В истории встречаются упоминания влиятельной советницы и круга ученых при короле. Якобы, это они, а не Мордред, были авторами удивительной тактической доктрины, а также создали доспехи, в которых армия короля стала непобедимой. Однако подобные домыслы никогда не высказываются вслух, а со времен короля Мелехана все исторические тексты того времени убраны под замок.
