Presedintele Basescu a evidentiat încrederea pe care SUA au avut-o în Armata româna, prin punerea sub comanda româneasca a unor importante efective în Afganistan si l-a asigurat pe George W. Bush ca România îsi va respecta angajamentele în relatia cu NATO, cu UE, dar si în parteneriatul bilateral.

The Romanian president highlighted the confidence the U.S. had in the Romanian Army, by putting a significant number of troops in Afghanistan under Romanian command and assured President Bush that Romania will respect its commitments to NATO, the European Union and also the pledges related to the bilateral partnership.

Le président Basescu a souligné la confiance que les USA avaient dans l'armée roumaine, chose dont témoignait le placement sous commande roumaine d'importants effectifs en Afghanistan, et a assuré le président Bush que la Roumanie respectera ses engagements dans la relation avec l'OTAN et l'UE, ainsi que le partenariat bilatéral.
