Le Conseil municipal a approuvé , en vertu de la Loi sur les redevances d'aménagement un nouveau rè glement sur les redevances d'aménagement en juillet 2004. Ce rè glement contient un certain nombre de dispenses visant à favoriser l'atteinte par la Ville de ses objectifs de gestion de la croissance, notamment, lorsqu'une résolution du Conseil l'autorise au cas par cas, une dispense des redevances pour l'aménagement de terrains contaminés (friches industrielles) - article 7(t) du Rè glement 2004-298.

City Council approved a new Development Charges By-law, under the Development Charges Act, in July 2004. This By-law includes a number of exemptions to help support the City’s growth management goals, including where authorized by Council resolution, on a base by case basis, an exemption of development charges for development on contaminated lands (brownfield) -Section 7(t) of By-law 298-2004. The ability to reduce development charges on contaminated sites will support this CIP and will help to achieve the City’s growth management objectives. The integration of the Development Charge Reduction Program for brownfields and the Rehabilitation Grant Program contained in this CIP is described below. City Council approved a new Development Charges By-law, under the Development Charges Act, in July of 2009. The new By-law includes an exemption-Section 7 (t) of By-Law 219-2009 “ Where specifically authorized by a resolution of Council, development on contaminated land in accordance with the Guideline for Development Charge Reduction Program due to Site Contamination, approved by Council on March 28, 2007.”
