Così sono stati individuati sette scali ormai abbandonati (Farini, Lambrate, Porta Romana, Porta Genova, San Cristoforo, Rogoredo e Bicocca), di cui 6 esposti nel sito web www.investinitalyrealestate.com e quasi tutti a ridosso del centro, che il Comune di Milano, in accordo con il proprietario, Ferrovie dello Stato, vorrebbe riqualificare: insieme, coprono una superficie di 1,25 milioni di metri quadrati.

Seven abandoned railway station areas were thus identified (Farini, Lambrate, Porta Romana, Porta Genova, San Cristoforo, Rogoredo and Bicocca), of which 6 are displayed on the website www.investinitalyrealestate.com and almost all close to the centre. Together they cover an area of 1.25 million sqm and the municipality of Milan, in agreement with the owner, Ferrovie dello Stato, would like to regenerate them.

Nel frattempo, per il prossimo marzo, è prevista la presentazione degli scenari emersi durante il workshop di tre giorni, cui hanno partecipato oltre 2mila milanesi tra i quali circa 800 professionisti della progettazione, tra architetti e ingegneri, dal titolo “Dagli Scali, la nuova città” che si è tenuto dal 15 al 17 dicembre scorsi.

Meanwhile, the scenarios to emerge from a three-day workshop are expected to be submitted by March 2017. Between 15 and 17 December 2016, over 2,000 Milanese participated in the workshop entitled “A new city from the rail station areas”. These included about 800 project and design professionals, both architects and engineers. The event has been the tool that both the municipality and the contractor have used to encourage maximum involvement by local citizens and by public and private sector stakeholders alike. The guidelines for 5 development scenarios were outlined at an equivalent number of roundtables and will be presented in March, and the results of works will be exhibited to the public from 4 to 9 April.

Con la riqualificazione degli scali ferroviari di Milano prende forma la più grande trasformazione urbanistica della città dal dopoguerra a oggi. Dopo l’approvazione delle linee di indirizzo da parte del consiglio comunale, la prossima tappa verso la definizione dei progetti passa in primo luogo per il via libera all’accordo di programma cui la giunta sta lavorando, anche sulla base delle proposte della Regione Lombardia e di Ferrovie dello Stato, che è il proprietario e committente, per la rigenerazione delle 7 aree ferroviarie dismesse di Porta Romana, Porta Genova, Lambrate, Rogoredo, Greco-Breda, Farini  (aree presenti sul sito www.investinitalyrealestate.com) e l’area di San Cristoforo, che occupano una superficie di 1,3 mln di mq in varie zone della città.

With the redevelopment of its rail station areas, Milan’s largest urban transformation since the beginning of the post-war period takes shape. After approval by the Municipal Council of the guidelines, the next step towards project definition involves first of all receiving the go-ahead for the planning agreement. The town council is working on this, even on the basis of proposals made by the Lombardy regional authorities and the Ferrovie dello Stato, the state rail body, owner and commissioning party for the renewal of 7 disused railway areas (Porta Romana, Porta Genova, San Cristoforo, Lambrate, Rogoredo, Greco-Breda and Farini, 6 of which can be found on the website www.investinitalyrealestate.com) occupying a total area of 1.3 million sq.m in different parts of the city. The Milan municipality headquartered in Palazzo Marino has confirmed that they aim to take action as quickly as possible.
