Halifax District RCMP is investigating a graffiti incident at a business in Hatchet Lake. Staff of Classic Physiotherapy in Hatchet Lake noticed that graffiti had been left on the building and a retaining wall on the property. This occurred overnight after staff left for the day on April 21, and was reported to police yesterday. Halifax District RCMP is asking anyone who may have information about the suspect in this matter is asked to call RCMP at (902) 490-5020 or Nova Scotia Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS. The public can also get in touch with Crime Stoppers by texting TIP202 and a message to CRIMES (274637) or by Secure Web Tips at www.crimestoppers.ns.ca. Preliminary investigation revealed that the vehicle, a 1971 Chevrolet C10 Super Cheyenne truck, was the same vehicle that had been reported stolen from the Steak & Stein restaurant parking lot at 6:30 p.m. on Portland St. yesterday in Dartmouth. That theft is currently being investigated by Halifax Regional Police.

Suite à cette arrestation, un membre de la GRC a été accusé d'avoir agressé le prisonnier et de l'avoir menacé, alors qu'il se trouvait à l'arrière du véhicule de la police. Le policier impliqué a signalé ses actions à son chef de détachement et une enquête criminelle a été initiée.
Following the arrest, a member of the RCMP is alleged to have committed an assault upon the man and to have threatened him while the prisoner was in the back of the police vehicle. The involved police officer reported his actions to his Detachment Commander and a criminal investigation was initiated.

La victime parcourait le sentier du lac Frame en vélo lorsqu'un suspect inconnu a saisi le guidon de son vélo et lui a demandé de lui donner son vélo. Le suspect a saisi le sac à dos de la victime et a tenté de la faire tomber du vélo. La victime a réussi à se libérer et s’est enfuie à vélo. La victime n’a signalé aucune blessure à la police.
The victim in this incident was riding their bike on the Frame Lake Trail, when an unknown male suspect grabbed the handle bars of their bike. The suspect demanded the victim’s bicycle, grabbed their back pack, and tried to physically pull them off their bicycle. The victim was able to break free from the suspect and pedal away. The victim did not report any injuries to police.

Numerous Ground Search and Rescue teams from across the province, as well as the Halifax Regional Police K9 unit and Nova Scotia Department of Natural Resources provided assistance during the search.

On Friday, April 10th , 2015, Fort Qu'Appelle RCMP received a complaint from the previous evening that at 7:00 p.m a child under the age of 12 had been approached by an adult male while playing outside on Railway Avenue in the town of Balcarres, Saskatchewan. A white truck approached the child and the driver asked the child if she wanted to go for a ride. The child said "no" and screamed for help from her family. Family reported the incident to the Fort Qu'Appelle RCMP on today's date at 8:50 a.m.

The incident occurred at approximately 2:40 pm. The owner was able to contact the police just minutes after the theft occurred, however the Skidoo was not located. Unfortunately the keys had been left in the ignition at the time the theft occurred.

At approximately 10:15 p.m. last evening Halifax District RCMP were dispatched to Oldham Road where local residents reported a vehicle had been parked near a vacant home for several hours and were concerned. Preliminary investigation determined that two males from the Halifax area, a 49-year-old and an 83-year-old, had parked their car earlier in the afternoon on Thursday and went hiking in the woods. The men started walking out of the woods around supper time however darkness closed in making it difficult to negotiate their way though rough terrain and thick bush.

Police arrived on-scene and were assisted by RCMP Police Dog Services and Halifax Regional Police K-9 Unit. A search for the suspect led to Sackville High School where it appeared entry had been gained. While outside of the school, police dispatch received a call from an alarm company of an intrusion alarm at the school. The suspect attempted to flee from the school which resulted in police arresting the male without incident as he exited the school.

Shortly after 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 28, a 44-year-old-man reported that upon exiting his vehicle in his driveway on Montague Rd., four males proceeded to assault him, one of which was reported to have had a handgun in his possession. The victim was transported to hospital by EHS with non-life threatening injuries.

On Sunday morning, police received a call that a male was walking down Katherine Avenue with what appeared to be a firearm. The police conducted an extensive search and canvassed homes within several city blocks around Katherine Avenue. The subject of the complaint was not located but police are continuing to investigate. There have been no further sightings of this person reported to police since the initial call at approximately 11:15 this morning.

Despite a year-long missing person investigation being conducted in both Halifax and New Westminister, B.C., no trace of Andrea was found and police were unable to positively identify anyone who had contact with her after her arrival in Nova Scotia.

At approximately 4:30 a.m., a Digby RCMP member was alerted to a possible impaired driver on a motorcycle. A short distance away, the motorcyclist was located on a dead end street turning his motorcycle around. The RCMP activated emergency equipment and the motorcyclist drove away down First Ave. Seconds later, the motorcycle crashed.

The RCMP in Lamèque continue their search for a missing man and are asking the public for any information that can help locate him. Laurent Haché, a 68-year-old man from Lamèque, was last seen on January 3, 2015 and was reported missing by his family later the same day. His vehicle, a brown, 2013, four-door Hyundai Elantra was found on the Sainte-Marie-Saint-Raphael wharf but Mr. Haché was not inside.

On May, 8, 2015 at approximately 1:00 pm, Yellowknife RCMP responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle where a male offered candy to a young boy. The vehicle was reported as either a SUV or Van, possibly Nissan that was red in colour. The vehicle was driven by a male. It was reported the male offered a "lollipop" to the child on the side of the road near the intersection of Taylor Road and Phinney Court. In this case, the child knew to run home and report the incident to his parents. RCMP is asking parents to remind their children about not talking to strangers.

The RCMP reminds the public they can reduce the risk of being targeted by thieves by taking some preventative measures. Thieves are looking for things that are easy to steal. The RCMP is asking the public to lock the doors of their homes and vehicles and to avoid leaving valuables in plain sight, as this can attract the attention of thieves.

At approximately 8:15 a.m., a female student reported being approached by a female driver at the corner of Stokil Dr. and Nordic Cres. near Leslie Thomas Junior High in Lower Sackville. The student reported that on her way to school, the vehicle pulled up next to her and rolled down the rear passenger side window. The female driver then spoke to the student over her shoulder, possibly saying 'get in the car' or 'come on, get a drive.' The student refused and continued on to school.

Police believe the individual responsible also approached other homes in the area but was deterred from breaking in when he encountered homeowners and neighbours, some of whom spoke to the suspect.
