Yesterday was the day of heavy sound in Rock City! In an avalanche of black t-shirts, the second stage of Rock in Rio started with the fans with more energy than ever. The crowd already filled the area of Sunset Stage before the first show! The atmosphere gave the dramatics characteristic of a day of metal: the dark clouds and strong wind made the presentations on the Mundo Stage even more intense at the end of the day, amidst macabre priests, shouts of "Grunge is not dead" and lots and lots of rock! Fortunately, the darkness did not go beyond the scare (and the stages!) and there was nothing more than a drizzle late at night. The day’s highlights included the terrifying Rob Zombie and Ghost B.C., who made big shows that held the attention and at the same time filled the crowd of the Sunset and Mundo stages with fear respectively. In the Sunset stage, also, the heavy metal fans were very satisfied and were already able to warm up for the Sunday with presentations by República + Dr. Sin + Roy Z, Almah + Hibria and the idolized Sebastian Bach. While in the Mundo stage, the works started with great propriety by Sepultura and the French Les Tambours du Bronx, who fortunately did not demolish Rock City, but the weight was such much that they almost did. After Ghost B.C., it was Alice in Chains that came on stage, with an unquestionable show, proving that the maxim "Grunge Is Not Dead" is still active. The day was closed by the ever excellent giants of Metallica and their heavy dose of thrash metal. And thank God it was the closing, after all, the crowd was completely exhausted after the much heavy stuff by James, Lars, Kirk and Robert. Although going by the crowd’s reaction, those guys could have played for 5 more hours nonstop. We separated the best moments from yesterday for you to check out here: http://rcknr.io/POLICE21C And Rock in Rio continues. Let’s go get this party fired up even more!
