One of the main fears identified by FACE Entrepreneurship when it comes to starting up is that fear of not having the support of your family and friends, or that they think you’re completely crazy. When the panelists were asked about the importance of this kind of support, some differences of opinion appeared. While Sonia assures us that the support of her husband and children was essential and fundamental for her, José admits that “in the end those who love you will support you”, even though some might think you’ve lost your mind or they don’t understand why you would want to go down that path. However, other panelists weren’t so lucky as to count on this kind of support when they started on their entrepreneurial adventure. Chema Larrea explains that he didn’t tell anyone he had left his job as a civil servant until his startup started working well, while Sean admits to never having his family’s support. Nevertheless, that didn’t stop him from starting up and he thinks that “people will be there or they won’t, but at the end of the day it’s you who’s worth it and who’s always going to be there fighting for an idea you believe in.”
