The wonderful mini-album “Das Macht Modern” (Kontra, 2014) provides an excellent introduction to the sophistication of the Düsseldorf trio The Durian Brothers. Stefan Schwander, Mark Matter and Florian Meyer use sequencers, effects and modified turntables to construct organic, polyrhythmic techno tracks.

Stefan Schwander, Mark Matter und Florian Meyer verwenden Sequenzer, Effekte und modifizierte Turntables zur Konstruktion von organisch anmutenden, polyrhythmischen Techno-Tracks. So geraten dann Dub-Schleifen und Tribalismus, kosmische Anleihen und andere klangliche Versatzstücke zu einem wunderbar vielfältigen und verspielten Sound, der in der Live-Performance umso mehr zur Geltung kommen dürfte.

The Basel events series Klappfon contributes a gig by the German-British noise and improvisation trio Konk Pack to the evening. The band consisting of Thomas Lehn, Tim Hodgkinson and Roger Turner was founded fifteen years ago and has been classified by Wire Magazine as ‘one of the most exciting improv groups in the world.’ Founding member Lehn has developed his own language of electronic music based upon his experience of interpretation and improvisation of classical and contemporary music.

Bestehend aus Thomas Lehn, Tim Hodgkinson und Roger Turner gilt die vor fünfzehn Jahren gegründete Band für das Wire Magazin als "one of the most exciting improv groups in the world". Gründer Lehn hat auf der Grundlage seiner Erfahrungen in der Interpretation und Improvisationen von klassischer und zeitgenössischer Musik eine eigene Sprache der Elektronik entwickelt. Tim Hodgkinson war unter anderem Mitglied der einflussreichen britischen Art-Rock-Gruppe Henry Cow und der Schlagzeuger Roger Turner arbeitete mit John Russell und Comforts of Madness.
