U kunt uw aquarium ook zonder onderlegger op een absoluut vlak en zuiver oppervlak plaatsen. Het probleem is dat zelfs een klein zandkorreltje of steentje de bodemplaat al kan laten barsten en uw woonkamer in een vochtige biotoop verandert. Om deze reden is het meer dan aan te raden voor een beetje geld een passende aquariumpad aan te schaffen.
