Au décor du domaine national appartient également le Château de Brdo, où sont organisées des manifestations officielles, qui fut construit en 1499 après que l'Empereur autrichien Maximillian I eût autorisé le noble George Egkh-Hungerspach à bâtir une digue sur le ruisseau Vršek. Trois étangs ont ainsi vu le jour, dont deux, vieux de plus de 500 ans, ornent encore aujourd'hui les terres du château.

The estate also houses the Brdo state protocol castle, which was built in 1499, when the Austrian Emperor Maximillian I allowed the noble George Egkh-Hungerspach to build a dam on the Vršek stream. Three ponds were constructed, two of which, now over 500 years old, continue to adorn the castle grounds.

Na posestvu se prav tako nahaja protokolarni grad Brdo, ki je bil zgrajen leta 1499, ko je z dovoljenjem avstrijskega cesarja Maksimilijana I plemič Jurij Egkh-Hungerspach zajezil potok Vršek. Dva od treh ribnikov, ki so jih zgradili pred več kot 500 leti, še danes krasita grajski park.

Zamisel o združeni Evropi je nastala po drugi svetovni vojni, ko je skupina evropskih državnikov iskala način, kako na celini zagotoviti mir in stabilnost. Ključna osebnost evropske integracije je bil francoski zunanji minister Robert Schuman, ki je svoj predlog predstavil 9. maja 1950. Danes na ta dan po vsej Evropski uniji praznujemo Dan Evrope.
