Diarmuid Johnson and Stacey Blythe invite you to join them on a journey through the bardic world of West Wales. Poems in Welsh, with English translations, accompanied by harp, flute, accordion, and piano, weave a story that tells of the people, of the land, and of a struggle to survive and flourish between sea and mountain in West Wales. From the rugged uplands of Tregaron and Ffair Rhos where the River Teifi finds its source, to the coastal pastures of Aberporth, the poets and bards of Ceredigion open for us a tradition that stretches back centuries, and celebrates man’s covenant with the earth and the soil. The dulcet tones of Diarmuid’s wooden flutes mingle with Stacey’s charismatic voice to breathe new life into poems and songs that have long lain on the pages of a forgotten book. Join the poets and musicians on their journey at The Powerhouse/Pwerdy, Llandysul on May 13th. You may never return!
