First degree blood relatives of members of district chambers of commerce will be able to benefit from 15% discount in annual tuition fees of Izmir University of Economics at the signature ceremony, hosted by Menemen Chamber of Commerce in Foça, during the Executive Boards Joint Meeting. President Ekrem Demirtaş stated that starting from last year, the Higher Education Board (YOK) allowed them to make discount in tuition fees. He said, "We were not able to get the permission from YOK before. Starting from this year, we will provide 15% discount for first degree blood relatives of our members. I hope this protocol will bring good luck to all.”

Bunun en önemli sebebi sanayi üniversite işbirliğinin olmamasıdır. İş dünyası bir zirvede, öğrenciler bir başka zirvede duruyor. Öğrencilerimiz, dünyanın her yerinde çalışabilmeliler. Bu döneme dek öğrencilerimizin yüzde 80'i kendileri staj yeri buluyordu. Uluslararası İlişkiler okuyan bir öğrenci kebapçıda staj yapıyordu. Bu dönem 12 Konsorsiyum kuruldu. En güçlülerinden biri İzmir'de oluştu" dedi.

National Agency Coordinator İlyas Ülgür stated that students got in a state of confusion in business life after they graduated from the university. He said, "Graduates experience confusion for about 5 - 6 months. One major reason for this is the lack of industry-university collaborations. Business life sits on one summit, students sit on another one. Students should be able to work at any part of the world. Up until now, 80% of the students were able to find a place to perform internship on their own. A student of International Relations was performing internship at a restaurant. 12 consortiums have been established during this period, the strongest one being in Izmir.”
