نوري بوزيد من مواليد مدينة صفاقس سنة 1945 وخريج المعهد الوطني للفنون ببروكسال. عمل مخرجا مساعدا في أفلام تونسيّة وأجنبيّة عديدة، واشتغل على السيناريو والحوار في أخرى. وقد مثّل شريطه "ريح السدّ" الذي توّج في مهرجان قرطاج 1986 نقطة التحول الحقيقيّة لمسيرته. وحقّق إثره نجاحات عديدة بأفلامه الستّة الطويلة التي عقبته و جاءت لتؤكّد موهبته وأسلوبه المميّ

Nouri Bouzid was born in Sfax, Tunisia. He studied film in Brussels, graduating with the short film Duel (1972). Returning to Tunisia, he worked in television for two years but was then jailed for his political views. He worked on several foreign films, including Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981), before directing his first feature, Man of Ashes (1986), which won the Un Certain Regard top prize at the Cannes Film Festival. Other titles include Bezness (1992),Clay Dolls (2002) and Making Of (2006).

شعر المهندسون والمسؤولون عن انجاز المشروع بالبهجة عندما دخلت التّربينات إلى مرحلة الاستغلال وقالوا بكلّ سرور: " ستمنحنا التربينات الآن نسمة من الهواء العليل بعد كلّ هذا الجهد الذي بذلناه " فرغم الشمس الحارقة ودرجات الحرارة المرتفعة نسبيّا تهبّ الرّياح خلال الصّيف أكثر ممّا يشهده فصل الشتاء من ريح في هذا المكان.

I found many other Japanese words remaining in England other than ‘Hane.’ Let me introduce some of them. When I was walking nearby trying to find evidence of ‘Harne = Hane (wing)," I found a hill called ‘Mill’ which I believe to be the ruin of an ultra ancient airport. The pronunciation is exactly the same as ‘miru’ (to watch) in Japanese. That’s it! There are places named ‘miru’ near ultra ancient airports. One such example is a place called ‘kumo-mi’ (to watch the clouds) near Ao-Hane (blue wing) in the Izu Peninsular in Shizuoka Prefecture. Take-off and landing by aircraft are greatly influenced by the weather, as it was in ultra ancient times. It is essential to know the wind, and to watch the clouds around airports. I found a big ‘Wind Mill" in ‘Mill’. The wind mill was used to grind grain using the use of the wind. However a mill was originally meant to watch the wind as the name implies meaning ‘Mill (to watch).’ This may also explain why ‘Herne Mill’ is situated near ‘Hane’ in London, because it may have functioned as an air traffic control.
