Through the project, ARI monitored, documented and conducted a series of interviews on the constitutional process in Egypt during the first phase of the transition covering the two failed experiences since the fall of Mubarak in 2011 and the early phase of the third attempt in 2014. The resulting research highlights the repetition of the same mistakes in the process itself.

ركَز المشروع على مسار كتابة الدستور في تونس ومصر في ظل التحولات فيهما، وتولى القيام ببحث وتحليل مقارن في عملية صنع الدستور في دول عربية (تونس، مصر، المغرب وسوريا)، وفي دول أخرى (الهند، البرتغال واسبانيا). ومن خلال المشروع، قامت المبادرة بمراقبة وتوثيق وإدارة سلسلة من المقابلات حول العملية الدستورية في مصر خلال المرحلة الأولى من العملية الانتقالية بحيث غطت تجربتين فاشلتين جرتا بعد سقوط نظام مبارك وكذلك المرحلة المبكرة من المحاولة الثالثة في 2014، مشيرة إلى تكرار نفس الأخطاء في العملية نفسها. وبالمثل، وفيما يتعلق بتونس، قامت المبادرة بالاتصال مباشرة مع الشخصيات الرئيسية التي كانت تقود العملية الدستورية.
