الحرب على الاغتصاب، لاهور. اضطلعت إدارة خدمات المعونة القانونية التابعة لصندوق نسرين الاتئماني للرعاية والمساواة الآن على نحو استباقي بإجراء دراسة أولية حول موضوع زنا المحارم في باكستان كان الدافع إلى الاضطلاع به وإعداده حالة ضحية ناجية عمرها 15 عاما اسمها "مريم" ونقص البيانات في هذا الموضوع. ويسلط هذا التقرير الضوء على العقبات التي تواجه الناجيات من سفاح المحارم في الوصول إلى العدالة، ويقدم حلولا مبنية على أفضل الممارسات المستمدة من بلدان أخرى. والتقرير متاح حاليا باللغة الإنجليزية (الترجمة الأردية لم تخرج بعد إلى النور) ، ويتمثل الهدف من التقرير في الدعوة إلى إصلاح قوانين العنف الجنسي، لا سيما فيما يرتبط بزنا المحارم، واتخاذ إجراءات لضمان أن يتم الحفاظ على كرامة وحقوق الضحايا من قِبل النظام، وضمان تنفيذ القوانين بشكل أفضل من خلال بناء قدرات العاملين ذوي الصلة في مجالات القانون والفحص الجنائي وإنفاذ القانون.

ومن واشنطون العاصمة في الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية، أذيع المؤتمر السنوي الثاني والعشرين ليوم الأغذية العالمي بالأقمار الصناعية يوم 14 أكتوبر/تشرين الأول 2005، حيث كان الدكتور فرنسيس مور لابى هو المتحدث الرئيسي. وكان موضوع المؤتمر هو "تأملات يشأن محاربة الجوع: طرق لم تطرق، وأهداف لم تتحقق، ورحلة المستقبل". كما قامت كلية القانون في جامعة هوارد برعاية الندوة السنوية حول يوم الأغذية العالمي. وأذاع راديو " Talk to America" برنامجا عن يوم الأغذية العالمي تضمن حوارا لمدة 50 دقيقة. ونظمت جماعة العمل ضد الجوع اجتماعا عالميا تحت عنوان "توابع الجوع"، ركز على زيادة الوعي العام بقضية الجوع. وفى كندا، دعا مجلس تورنتو لسياسات الأغذية، بمشاركة مؤسسة الصحة العامة في تورنتو، وائتلاف العدالة في قضية الغذاء، ولجنة العمل من أجل الأغذية ومحاربة الجوع؛ الطلاب والمدرسين إلى المشاركة الإيجابية في عشرة عروض عن الزراعة والثقافة في مدينة تورنتو، بدءا من الحدائق العامة والحدائق المنزلية إلى تذوق وتجربة الأطعمة المختلفة السائدة فى الثقافات العديدة في المدينة، والالتقاء بالمزارعين المحليين.
