وتستند أبحاث برنامج سبيتار للحد من الإصابات والوقاية من الأمراض في مجالات علم الأوبئة وعوامل المخاطر وآليات إصابات رياضة كرة القدم على البيانات التي يتم جمعها بشكل دوري ومنتظم من الأقسام الطبية والأبحاث السريرية المتعددة في مستشفى سبيتار، بما في ذلك برنامج التقييم الدوري لصحة اللاعبين الذي يتم سنوياً ويستهدف مجموعات أساسية من الرياضيين للتقصي عن عوامل المخاطر لأي إصابة أو مرض. يذكر أنه أصبح إلزامًا على جميع لاعبي دوري نجوم قطر الخضوع لهذا الفحص والتقييم السنوي الدوري. واعتبارًا من العام 2013 أصبح هذا الفحص يضم مجموعة واسعة من الفحوصات الطبية الإضافية والتي تغطي الجهاز العضلي الهيكلي والقلب وصحة الرئتين والأسنان وغيرها. وكان لهذا التقييم الدوري الفضل في جمع بيانات شاملة من أكثر من 559 لاعبًا منذ بداية تطبيقه في العام 2012، مما أتاح لبرنامج سبيتار للحد من الإصابات والوقاية من الأمراض النظر بشكل متعمق على مجموعة كبيرة من اللاعبين.
