El Sr. Campuzano va emfatitzar el fet que arran de la crisi econòmica, la qüestió de la immigració ha desaparegut completament de l'agenda política. No obstant això, va apuntar que la qüestió de la mobilitat humana posa de nou sobre la taula la necessitat d'abordar aquest tema. Va remarcar com en la dècada del 2000 els països de la UE, en general, i Espanya en particular, van començar a rebre importants fluxos d'immigració, sense estar preparats per assumir-los, especialment des de la dimensió de la seguretat, perdent de vista altres aspectes com l’empresarial. Va concloure afirmant que quan Espanya superi la situació de crisi tornarà a ser "un país d'immigració", de manera que el llibre és imprescindible per a la futura política d'immigració espanyola, però també europea.
