" deals with the story of Antonio Gómez, a Spanish sportsman who made it big in Holland by participating in the speed ice skating races in the 70s. In The Hague, the artist studied the career of this skater who was popularly known as "Speedy Gómez". As a result, she discovered the importance of speed ice skating in that country, where speed skaters are seen as genuine idols. Through this story, and using the autographs of the sportsmen as a pretext, the artist reflects on the mechanisms for the marketing of authenticity, beginning with the building of "admirable" identities and that, as such, are susceptible to interest a potential mythomaniac market.

Després d'un parell de missatges i trucades, Lisa i Simon Thomas queden amb mi al monument del parc Lumphini. Vénen de sol · licitar un visat per Austràlia de dotze mesos. No és fàcil obtenir-la, ells ja són grans i les autoritats no volen vells en aquest país. Han recorregut a amistats. Simpàtics, amables, anglesos. Porten deu anys en aquest negoci dels viatges en moto. Fem unes fotos i anem a prendre alguna cosa. Entrem en un restaurant japonès. Hem tingut sort. És bo. Després comprovaré que no tots ho són. Demanen el menjar en tailandès. Ja han après algunes paraules i frases. Tenen una oïda fantàstic per als idiomes i els accents. Especialment Simon. Imita a la perfecció als indis i les seves banals preguntes sobre el preu de la moto. Van passar 4 mesos allà i formen part del club Índia (Jo no tornar a fer-ho).

Barcelona és una de les ciutats que més exiliats d’Argentina va acollir entre 1976 i 1983, arran de la dictadura militar en aquest país. Aquesta comunitat està representada per entitats com la Comissió de Solidaritat amb els Familiars Desapareguts a l’Argentina (COSOFAM), que tingué la iniciativa de sol·licitar un espai urbà dedicat a les Madres de la Plaza de Mayo. Així, l’any 1991 s’inaugurà aquest pla com a homenatge a les mares, àvies i familiars que des de 1977 es reuneixen a la Plaza de Mayo de Buenos Aires per exigir al govern argentí la investigació de la desaparició dels seus familiars durant la dictadura. Es van col·locar dues plaques commemoratives al paviment de la plaça i l’any 1995 al mateix districte de Nou Barris es creà l’arbreda de la Memòria, al turó de Roquetes, en memòria de les víctimes argentines.

Com a curiositat, jo vaig estudiar a Alemanya i allí es parla del Dr Johen Blum, de la Clínica Universitària de Mainz, com un "salvador" dels músics que viuen i treballen en aquell país. Fa uns anys vaig parlar amb ell perquè necessitava una rehabilitació professional per a músics. Al preguntar-me d'on el trucava (Espanya) em va dirigir a l'Institut de Terrassa per proximitat però, sobretot, perquè ell sabia que a l'Institut m'oferirien els mateixos coneixements i atencions que ell em podia oferir. Em va explicar que havien treballat junts, que els coneixia molt bé i que sabia que jo hi estaria ben atès. I, certament, així va ser.
