Treball de Final de Màster (obligatori): 12 crèdits. Aquest mòdul, de caràcter pràctic i obligatori, comprèn una única matèria consistent en l'elaboració d'un treball de recerca sobre algun dels temes abordats en les diferents matèries del màster. Els objectius de la realització del treball de recerca són, en primer lloc, aplicar de manera pràctica la metodologia específica d'investigació adquirida en el primer mòdul, i en segon lloc, canalitzar a l'alumnat cap a la realització de posteriors treballs de recerca de forma autònoma. Aquests treballs de recerca seran elaborats per l'alumne en el seu horari no presencial i tutoritzats pel professorat del Màster en l'horari d'atenció previst.

Neurocirurgians de l’Hospital Universitari de Bellvitge i investigadors de l’Institut d’Investigació Biomèdica de Bellvitge (IDIBELL) participen en un projecte internacional, anomenat CLEAR III, que avalua l’eficàcia de l’administració d’un fàrmac trombolític (rt-PA) per tractar hemorràgies cerebrals intraventriculars. Avui no hi ha consens internacional sobre quin és el millor tractament d’aquests tipus d’ictus hemorràgics. Els participants del projecte es van reunir recentment per definir els protocols d'actuació.

El 2003 els coreògrafs Tiago Guedes i Claudia Dias van ser invitats a ser coreògrafs associats de RE.AL passant així a beneficiar-se d'un conjunt de condicions logístiques i financeres necessàries en la producció de les seves peces i podent també comptar amb la intervenció de RE.AL en la definició de les seves estratègies de creació i difusió. L'entrada d'aquests dos coreògrafs a RE.AL va marcar al capdavall l'inici d'una etapa veritablement nova, en què encara ens trobem ara i on el concepte de companyia de dansa lligada a un sol autor dóna lloc a una estructura col•lectiva on diversos coreògrafs desenvolupen els seus projectes sota una mateixa marca: la Companyia RE.AL La nova configuració de RE.AL i el fet de tenir un nou espai a Lisboa –l'Atelier Real– van crear les condicions perquè nasqués el NIR (Nucli d'Investigació de RE.AL) que, a través de workshops, cursos setmanals i sessions de coaching, promou un treball continuat d'investigació independent en la creació.

She is co-author of books Bratislava: Atlas of Mass Housing and Modern and/or Totalitarian in the Architecture of the 20th Century in Slovakia. In her independent research practice based in Prague she focuses on comparative Czech and Slovak studies in architecture, namely on critical discourses, education and public space after transition.

Maria Topolcanska és arquitecte i crítica. Es va graduar en arquitectura a la FTA Bratislava i va cursar el màster Metròpolis en arquitectura i cultura urbana de la UPC Barcelona el 2001. Va ser investigadora a l’Acadèmia Eslovaca de Ciències de Bratislava entre 2003 i 2014. És coautora dels llibres: «Bratislava, Atlas of Mass Housing» i «Modern and/or Totalitarian in the Architecture of the 20th Century in Slovakia». En la seva investigació independent amb base a Praga s’ha centrat en estudis comparatius entre l’arquitectura Txeca i Eslovaca, sobretot en discursos crítics, educació i espai públic després de la transició. Sobre l'autor: Robert Castelo is associate professor at the Department of Health and Experimencal Sciences of Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF), in Barcelona. He graduated in Computer Science by Universitat de Lleida (BSc) and Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (MSc). After graduation, he spent 3 years at the National Research Institute for Mathematics and Computer Science (CWI) in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, investigating mathematical, statistical and computational aspects of graphical Markov models and got his PhD in Computer Science by the University of Utrecht. In 2002 he joined as postdoc/lecturer the UPF/CRG laboratory of Roderic Guigó working on biological sequence analysis. On 2006 he was awarded a "Ramon y Cajal" fellowship and started his own independent research at UPF where, on 2012, he became associate professor of Biostatistics and Bioinformatics. The focus of his research over the last 8 years has been reverse-engineering the genotype-phenotype map from high-throughput genomics data, trying to embrace the complexity that follows from the coordinated action of genes by means of multivariate statistical models, such as graphical Markov models.

The Mundus MAPP Consortium is inviting applications for post-doctoral fellowships from outstanding scholars from outside Europe. The Erasmus Mundus Masters Program in Public Policy (Mundus MAPP) is a 2-year-long international Masters course that embeds the nascent field of transnational public policy into a European context. It is funded by the European Commission, and operated by a consortium of four leading European institutions: the Central European University in Budapest (Hungary) as coordinating institution, the Barcelona Institute of International Studies (IBEI) in Spain; the Institute of Social Studies (ISS) in The Hague (Netherlands); and the University of York in the UK. Selected academics are hosted for a period of up to three months in one of the Consortium's institutions. During this period they teach or develop elements of the Mundus MAPP course, supervise thesis projects of Mundus MAPP students and/or engage in independent research or other activities aimed to enhance the quality of Mundus MAPP. Each scholarship consists of a fixed amount of €1,000 and a monthly stipend of €4,000 for a period of up to three months. The fellowships are funded by the European Commission under the Erasmus Mundus programme. Erasmus Mundus scholarships are available to academics who - Are citizens of any country except the 27 EU member states, EEA/EFTA countries (Norway, Iceland and Lichtenstein), or the EU candidate countries (Croatia, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia and Turkey); - Are not legal residents of any of the countries listed above; - In the last five years have not spent more than 12 months for their main activity (work, study, etc.) in any of the countries listed above.
