Trogir, a city of rich cultural and historical heritage, is located on an island in-between Ciovo and the mainland, linked to the latter with a bridge. 20 km west from Split and only 5 km away from the Split airport its location is pretty convenient. The name of the city originates from a Greek word Tragos, meaning goat, and is connected with the arrival of the Greek to this parts when they saw the goats and the billy goats on the nearby hills. An ancient Greek legend about the god Kairos is also linked with the city and the relief of the deity is being kept in the St. Nicholas church (Crkva Sv. Nikole) The mentioned Kairos is a god of good luck and happy moments. He appears only once in a lifetime and in haste, giving a person the possibility of touching his bob while the one who succeeds is perceived as lucky. Trogir is also known as the „city of museums”, and since the year 1997 the city core is on the list of the UNESCO heritage.
