Telomeres, the nucleoprotein structures, are very important to eukaryotic chromosome stabilization and changes in their length are critical for either undergoing next cell cycle or for induction of apoptosis. So far there were not much known about the epigenetic regulation of telomere length, nevertheless some results show that mammalian telomeres can be affected by changes in DNA and histone methylation pattern. This work is concerned of the effect of chemically induced hypomethylation of DNA and histones on telomere length in Nicotiana tabacum. Temporary results approve striking decrease in DNA methylation in subtelomeric regions, which did not lead to any change in telomeric length neither in telomere nucleozomal winding.

Telomery, nukleoproteinové struktury, jsou velmi důležité pro udržení celistvosti eukaryotických chromozomů a změna jejich délky rozhoduje buď o dalším buněčném dělení, nebo o navození buněčné smrti. Dosud nebylo mnoho známo ohledně epigenetické regulace délky telomer, nicméně poslední výsledky ukazují na regulaci délky telomer savčích buněk pomocí změny methylačního stavu buňky. Tato práce se zabývá vlivem chemicky navozené hypomethylace DNA a histonů na délku telomer u Nicotiana tabacum. Prozatimní výsledky prokázaly markantní snížení methylace DNA v subtelomerových oblastech, které ovšem nevedlo ke změně délky telomer, ani ke změně nukleozomálního vinutí na telomerách.

The government’s agricultural policies must be more responsive to the needs of rural areas. Producer concerns for input costs and sale prices are important issues; however, modern infrastructure and regulatory standards are needed to support the growth of these regions. The speakers agreed that there is much to be improved in rural regions, with many common and regionally specific challenges to be addressed. The Czech Ministry of Agriculture must prioritize quality of life in rural regions, which includes access to education, healthcare and infrastructure. A coordinated approach, between the Ministry of Agriculture, other government ministries and relevant states ministries in neighboring regions, is required to address this complex issue.

Agrární politika by měla být více otevřená venkovským oblastem. Ceny produktů jsou důležitým aspektem, je však třeba především podpořit zemědělské struktury a kvalitně nastavit pravidla podpory venkovských zemědělských oblastí. Řečníci se shodli, že v oblasti péče o venkov je ještě mnoho co zlepšovat. Existuje řada obecných i řada regionálně specifických problémů a jejich možných řešení. O kvalitu života na venkově se musí starat ministerstvo zemědělství, ale dalším oblastem, jakými jsou školství, zdravotnictví či infrastruktura se nemůže věnovat pouze toto ministerstvo a pouze na federální/celostátní úrovni správy. Řešení problémů venkovských oblastí je tedy velmi komplexní záležitostí.

It is therefore clear that efforts need to be intensified in order to recover lost ground and establish an infrastructure that meets modern industrial standards. Particularly regions where there has been no further development of the infrastructure for decades need to benefit from booms and prosperity. The many regions, which are notorious in terms of a lack of electricity supply, need access to a reliable energy supply. Ports, airports and transport routes on land and on water need to be adapted to the new, growth-related requirements or rebuilt completely. Telecommunication networks too need to be modernised and expanded to provide national and international communication routes that are commonly accepted today.

Přitom je zjevné, že se musí snaha zintenzivnit, zaostání dohnat a etablovat infrastrukturu moderního průmyslového standardu. Zejména ty regiony, kde se infrastruktura po desetiletí dále nevyvíjela, musí výrazněji profitovat ze vzestupu a prosperity. Řada regionů, které notoricky trpí nedostatečným zásobením proudem, musí dostat zásobení spolehlivou energií. Přístavy, letiště a dopravní trasy po zemi i po vodě se musí přizpůsobit novým požadavkům podmíněným růstem nebo nově postavit. I telekomunikační sítě se musí modernizovat a rozšířit, aby umožnily dnes běžné komunikační postupy na národní i mezinárodní úrovni.

V letošním roce vyhlásila agentura CzechTourism společně s Asociací hotelů a restaurací a Asociací kuchařů a cukrářů České republiky první ročník celorepublikové soutěže Czech Food Cup, která probíhala v jednotlivých krajích od února do dubna. Účastnily se jí výhradně restaurace s certifikátem Czech Specials. Soutěžilo se vždy se dvěma pokrmy. Šéfkuchaři jednotlivých restaurací připravili jak předem určenou národní specialitu, tak regionální specialitu, kterou si mohli sami zvolit.

The Veneti were an ancient Italic tribe who lived in northeastern Italy and some of the upper Adriatic regions, which Livy called their "corner". They were the only barbarian tribe in the region prior to the invasion of Gauls from beyond the Alps. The Veneti did not immediately come into conflict with the newcomers, unlike their more 'civilised' neighbours the Etruscans, instead coexisting peacefully. Polybius claims that the Veneti were heavily influenced by Gallic culture, and were seemingly identical to the Gauls except in their language. This Gallic influence did not mean the Veneti were warlike, however; instead, they preferred animal husbandry, fishing and trade over war, and used bronze coins as early as the 7th century BC. The Veneti used a strong breed of horse that were even requested by Dionysius of Syracuse for use in the Olympic Games. According to Livy, the Veneti were originally descended from Antenor of Troy, who led the 'Heneti' to northeastern Italy to found the city of Patavium.

Venetové byli starověkým italickým kmenem, který žil v severovýchodní Itálii a v některých regionech severního Jadranu, které Livius označoval jako „roh“. Byl to před invazí Galů zpoza Alp jediný barbarský kmen v regionu. Venetové se na rozdíl od „civilizovanějších“ sousedů, třeba Etrusků, s nově příchozími nedostali do okamžitého konfliktu, ale žili s nimi v míru. Polybius tvrdí, že Venetové byli galskou kulturou velmi ovlivněni a až na jazyk byli s Galy v podstatě totožní. Tento galský vliv ale neznamenal, že by Venetové byli válkychtiví. Před bojem dávali přednost chovu zvěře, rybářství a obchodu. Již v 7. století před Kristem používali bronzové mince. Venetové chovali silné plemeno koní, které si ke své účasti na olympijských hrách vyžádal i Dionýsios ze Syrakus. Podle Livia byli Venetové potomky Antenora z Tróje, který dovedl „Henéty“ do severovýchodní Itálie, aby zde založil město Patavium.
