Text se zabývá vztahem volebního a stranického systému na Fidži v kontextu vývoje místního stranického systému. Upozorňuje, že volební systém ovlivňoval nejen celofidžijskou stranickou soutěž, ale i její intraetnické části. Zohlednění tohoto aspektu představuje -podobně jako v jiných segmentovaných pluralismech- nepominutelnou součást studia stranické soutěže.
