De plaat laat de strijd om ruimte zien in de overvolle stad, exemplarisch voor wat overal in Afrika gaande is. De tentoonstelling, die voor het eerst in Europa te zien is, laat hedendaagse fotografie zien van kunstenaars die uit Afrika afkomstig zijn. "Dit is Afrikaanse fotografie", benadrukt Enwezor dan ook graag, "geen fotografie over Afrika."
