This bell was probably made by the bell-founder Pieter Van den Gheyn the Younger, from Mechelen. Several generations of bell-founders with the Van den Gheyn name were active in that town before the family settled in Leuven. Their instruments are found as far afield as Spain and Sweden, clear evidence of the family's international reputation.

Cette cloche est vraisemblablement l'œuvre du fondeur Pierre II Van den Gheyn de Malines. Plusieurs générations de fondeurs du nom de Van den Gheyn ont exercé dans cette ville avant d'émigrer à Louvain. On trouve leurs instruments de l'Espagne à la Suède, signe évident de la réputation internationale et du savoir faire des Van den Gheyn. Gracieusement galbée, cette cloche présente un décor sobre limité à une simple signature autour du cerveau -
