That struck me as a bit excessive but if it's taken to refer to the representatives of a tobacco company merely speaking to people about a particular company or commenting on it without necessarily advertizing or using a loudspeaker...

So it amounts to having some personality promote the product. I don't know whether you are familiar with the Joe Camel character in the US. If it's all right with the other members, I wouldn't mind hearing what the experience of the panel was, and I don't think a few minutes is adequate. I don't know what the rest think, but 20 minutes sounds a bit more reasonable, although that might be a bit excessive.

Si les autres membres du comité sont d'accord, je n'aurais pas d'objection à entendre quelle a été l'expérience du comité et je ne crois pas que quelques minutes suffisent. Je ne sais pas ce que les autres en pensent, mais 20 minutes me semblent un peu plus raisonnables, bien que c'est peut-être légèrement trop.

The essays in Part 1 are easy to read, and the authors successfully resist the temptation to become overly technical – as can often happen in theoretical discussions of leadership and human behaviour. That being said, one author does put forward a chart proposing a system whereby cohesion may be instilled in a unit, which may be a bit excessive.

Les articles de la première partie se lisent facilement, les auteurs ayant soin d'éviter le langage technique qui caractérise de nombreux écrits théoriques sur le leadership et le comportement humain. Cela dit, le tableau que présente un des auteurs pour illustrer un système destiné à assurer la cohésion d'une unité est peut-être un peu trop ambitieux.

The prices are higher, but I prefer that rather than at the time when they were making burger with sliced bread that cost you 19 euros. It’s a bit more justified today even though it’s still a bit excessive when compared to the United States.

C’est beaucoup trop. À Paris, on est passé du désert total en burger au trop en l’espace de 3 ou 4 ans. Avant quand tu voulais un bon burger tu savais pas du tout où aller. C’était du burger sur assiette qui était servi soit dans des restaurants américains, soit dans des bistrots, ou encore dans des fast-food. Aujourd’hui le truc positif, c’est qu’il y a pleins de mecs de notre génération qui se sont mis à le faire bien et à upgrader la qualité des burgers. Les prix sont plus élevés, mais je préfère ça plutôt qu’à l’époque où tu te faisais un burger avec du pain Harrys dans un bistrot et qui te coûtait 19 balles. Là c’est un peu plus justifié même si c’est toujours un peu excessif si on compare aux Etats-Unis. Là-bas le burger c’est le truc pas cher que tu t’enfiles assez facilement. À Paris il est plus gourmet. Mon sentiment est un peu partagé parce que maintenant on a le choix, mais c’est excessif. Il faut aussi savoir faire le tri. Aujourd’hui il y a pleins de gens qui surfe sur la vague, et qui ouvrent des lieux un peu standardisés autour du burger. Ces lieux là il faut juste les éviter.
