Alison Keith est une savante de réputation internationale grâce à une série de publications importantes (auxquelles s’ajouteront quelques-unes de plus actuellement en préparation) des travaux qui, en particulier, traitent de la rencontre du sexe, c’est-à-dire du genre, et des genres en littérature latine. Elle a publié trois livres bien reçus, considérés comme des lectures essentielles dans leur domaine : The Play of Fictions: Studies in Ovid’s Metamorphoses Book 2 (University of Michigan Press, 1992), Engendering Rome: Women in Latin Epic (Cambridge University Press, 2000), et Propertius, Poet of Love and Leisure (Duckworth, 2008).
