The document review indicates that thematic maps were produced in 2006-07 to provide the public with an up-to-date view of their national/international environment. These included a Canadian Watersheds map, a revised Canadian Protected Areas map and a new North American Watersheds wall map. Highlights for the period 2007-08 included natural hazards mapping, a circumpolar map and Toporama (which provides on-line topographic maps and data). Interactive thematic maps on climate norms, mining locations and forest fires have been completed. Program management has noted that a National Water Atlas is planned.

Selon les documents, les cadres géospatiaux à une échelle de 1/1M ont été terminés tôt au cours de la période d'évaluation, et plusieurs cadres répondant à de nombreuses exigences nationales et internationales en matière de rapports ont été publiés. Le cadre des bassins versants du Canada (échelle de 1/1M) a été élaboré en collaboration avec Statistique Canada et Environnement Canada, et il est actuellement utilisé par Statistique Canada, Environnement Canada ainsi qu'Agriculture et Agroalimentaire Canada pour la production de leurs rapports, selon les personnes interrogées. Statistique Canada a terminé la certification de ce cadre comme « cadre géographique type » pour la production de rapports sur l'information relative aux eaux.
