Nevertheless, the level of political and military engagement in Pakistan is arguably greater now than at any point in the past, and in March of this year, Prime Minister Harper and Defence Minister O'Connor visited Pakistan, and Minister O'Connor made a return visit this past September. On both occasions we raised the importance of security and development missions in Afghanistan with the Government of Pakistan and the premium we placed on Pakistan's cooperation.

À ces deux occasions, nous avons tenu à rappeler au gouvernement pakistanais l'importance de notre mission de sécurité et de développement en Afghanistan ainsi que l'importance que nous attachons à la collaboration du Pakistan. Nous avons également fait part au gouvernement pakistanais de nos inquiétudes face aux activités des insurgé en territoire pakistanais. Le premier ministre pakistanais Aziz et moi-même avons d'ailleurs discuté de ces questions plus tôt ce mois-ci, lors de notre rencontre à Halifax. J'avais eu des entretiens semblables avec le président Moucharraf lors de son passage à l'Assemblée générale des Nations Unies, à New York, le mois dernier.

Mercredi 6 mai 2015 à 12h15 Où?PK-5115 En anglais Titre Process Redesign for Improving the Traceability of Medical Instruments: Case Study of a Hospital Résumé Ensuring “products” tracking and tracing in hospitals is essential since it allows increasing the efficiency of operations such as logistic management and quality management processes, comply with regulatory requirements and guidance on product recall as well as support patient safety. However, ensuring traceability is a challenging task. The organization should have a system to uniquely identify “products”, collect, store, manage and share information about them with key stakeholders in the process. We conducted a research to explore the potential of implementing a tracking and tracing system for improving the traceability of medical instruments in a hospital environment. The case study was conducted at a hospital in Montreal, Canada, where the underway construction of a new building will be the new home for the Central Sterilization Department (CSD) and operating rooms (OR). This relocation brought up the opportunity of improving the flow of surgical instruments from CSD to OR by using case carts for transferring items as well as implementing a traceability system. The business process re-engineering (BPR) approach was adopted in order to identify the impact of technologies such as RFID or barcoding system on selected processes. Moreover, this research raised the importance of using simulation software such as Arena as a “process analyzer” to efficiently compare the “What-If” envisioned scenarios. Hence, the potentials of different traceability scenarios were assessed by simulating the processes and comparing the results. Biographie Afrooz Moatari Kazerouni is a Post-Doctoral fellow at the Department of Management and Technology at UQAM, under the supervision of prof. Ygal Bendavid. She holds a PhD in Industrial Engineering from the École Polytechnique de Montréal and obtained her MSc in Production Management from the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) – Copenhagen, Denmark. Her research interests include planning and designing facility layouts, business process modeling, tracking and tracing systems, occupational health and safety, new product development and simulation. She has worked on different projects within the healthcare settings and in collaboration with hospitals in Canada and USA
