Aux États-Unis, les taux sont comme prévu restés inchangés. Si un communiqué avait dressé un tableau relativement positif de la situation économique, cela a été contredit quelques jours plus tard par le chiffre décevant du PIB pour le deuxième trimestre. Résultat, le marché évalue désormais à 30 % la probabilité d’une hausse des taux avant la fin de l’année contre plus de 50% auparavant. En Europe et au Royaume-Uni, les taux sont également restés inchangés, ce qui peut constituer une surprise dans le chef du Royaume-Uni. Vu le repli des indicateurs avancés, une baisse des taux au Royaume-Uni début août semble très probable.
