In 1880, Amédée Papineau had a building constructed near the manor house to serve as the family museum. The rectangular shape of the building is a Neo-Classical design and it has a gabled roof. Each of the gabled ends of the roof forms a broken pediment. Composed of girders supporting the ridge beam, the structural frame consists of trusses in the form of Saint-Andrew's crosses, which allows for a greater volume inside the building. All of the walls of the family museum are brick, except for the façade, which is stone and has two Neo-Roman features: a full-centre arch doorway topped by an unusual-looking three-paned window framed by colonnettes.

Right-sided flatfish caught in Finland’s sea areas are almost invariably flounders, while left-sided individuals with large mouths and a more rounded shape are turbot. The two are easy to identify, even if the flounder happens to be left-sided. Any unusual-looking flatfish should always be inspected carefully in case there happens to be a dab, plaice or brill among them. Reddish spots are not a completely reliable means of identification.

La formation d'une verrue résulte d'une accumulation d'hémocytes (cellules sanguines de la panope) dans la musculature du siphon ou du manteau causant une purulence (un nombre extrêmement élevé d'hémocytes). Cette lésion semble migrer (mécanisme encore inexpliqué) du tissu musculaire jusqu'à la surface où elle finit par être isolée des tissus sous-jacents par du périostracum. Il se peut que l'apparition de 'verrues' sur la surface du siphon et du manteau fasse partie d'un mécanisme de guérison chez la panope.
