In the not-so-far-away days of old, whenever a journey was to be undertaken, proper provisions had to be prepared. The deserts were long, hot, harsh, and unmerciful. There were no gas stations to fill up with chips and refreshments, or rest stops to slurp water from a fountain. In fact, there was not a human in sight for miles upon miles of barren sand dunes and losing the way meant losing your life. Thus, you had to have the provisions with you before you made the journey – enough food, enough water, enough everything to carry you to your destination.

Wenn jemand in früheren Zeiten sich dazu entschloss Hajj zu machen, dann war es gleichzeitig ein Synonym dafür, dass sich dieser jemand von der diesseitigen Welt verabschiedete. Die Erklärung dafür lag in den heimtückischen Hindernissen, die eine Reise durch die Wüste mit sich brachte. Krankheiten, Hunger und viele andere Schwierigkeiten mussten in Betracht gezogen werden.

My family stayed with the child in this farm-house (apartment Rubino) in August 2011. This is real Tuscan house! Very nice owner! There are comfortable clean rooms, good almost new plumbing in the bathroom, nice quiet bedroom, large sofa-bed for child, convenient kitchenette, a large selection of dishes, small but roomy refrigerator. We had a separate entrance to the part of the house we rented, completely isolated from other residents, with our part of the garden. In the garden stood a table and chairs, we had opportunity to take a meal in an outdoor setting. Around the house - the olive grove and vineyard. The supermarket is located 3 min. from the house, the sea - 11 km by car (approx. 15 minutes). The house is not so far away from the sulfur baths of Saturnia.
