A projekt célja egy közösségi gazdálkodáson alapuló mintaprogram kidolgozása és elindítása a dél-borsodi régióban. A programnak három alappillére van: a zöldségtermesztés, a gyümölcstermesztés és a háztáji baromfitartás. Az alappillérek legfontosabb eleme az őshonos, illetve hagyományos és tájfajták összegyűjtése, megőrzése és visszajuttatása a háztáji portákra, így a projekt fontos szerepet játszik a biodiverzitás védelmében. A programmal kezdetben öt család közösségi gazdálkodását alapozzuk meg, ahol mind a termelés, mind a tárolás és a feldolgozás közösen történik. Első lépésként a cél az önellátás megalapozása, de hosszútávon ez egy közösség által támogatott rendszer kialakítását tenné lehetővé. A mintakertek, mint tudás- és tanácsadó- és elosztó központok működnének, bármikor látogathatóak és segítik a környékbeli lakosokat abban, hogy ezeket a fajtákat újra használják.
