La fase di lavorazione ha inizio all'interno di apposite presse che effettuano lo stampaggio delle guarnizioni. Nel caso di processo per iniezione, una macchina automatica riceve la materia prima e la tratta restituendo direttamente il prodotto stampato. Con il processo per compressione, invece, la fase di stampaggio è preceduta dalla preparazione della materia prima tramite degli estrusori. L'elastomero, una volta estruso, è pronto per essere introdotto nella pressa, dove grazie all'impiego di forti pressioni ad alte temperature viene ricavato un prodotto stampato di forma circolare detto O-Ring. Tutte le guarnizioni infine vengono sottoposte a un'operazione che le separa dalla bava che caratterizza il prodotto appena stampato.
