With reference to Law 76/2016 on the “Regulation of Civil Unions between Individuals of the Same Sex and Rules Regarding Cohabitation” we hereby inform that in accordance with Decree no.144/2016 issued by the President of the Council of Ministers (published in the Gazzetta Ufficiale, n.175, on July 28, 2016), Civil Unions contracted according to Italian Law in an Italian Consulate (visit the Consular Network webpage to find the Consulate that has jurisdiction over the area of residence of one of the parties) can now be registered in the Vital Records Registry.
