研究プロジェクトはいくつかの研究委員会で企画検討されます。宇宙理学委員会・宇宙工学委員会は宇宙理学・宇宙工学それぞれの分野における研究プロジェクトの企画検討するために設置されています。委員会では、プログラムの概略、特別 ミッション研究グループ新設の認可、ミッション目的の評価、実行されるミッション候補の選出、認可されたミッションの実行検討が行なわれます。その他の各委員会はそれぞれの管轄権限持ち、各活動を円滑に実行運営するために設けられています。
