公共財供給メカニズムの開発はなお急務ですが、このギャップを埋めるには、多様な行動原理が混在してもなお機能する制度、いわば頑健である制度の探究が必要です。 では、これから制度設計研究者が考慮すべき行動原理とは何でしょう。今後の研究では、その手掛かりを意思決定理論に求めることに未来があると思います。意志決定理論は、「後悔回避」、「誘惑」、「プライド」など、特に不確実性下での個人の主観を織り込んだ事柄を、数学的、統計的にパターン化し、計算に盛り込んできました。近年、意思決定理論は実験研究の増加と相まって著しい発展を見せ、個人内の問題という枠組みを超え、戦略的状況へとその応用が拡大する機運が高まっています。しかしながら、その知見を制度設計の理論にまでフィードバックした研究は発展途上であり、そのうち被験者実験との強く連携しているものはわずかです。そこで、意思決定理論の知見を取り入れながら、参加者の多様な行動原理に対して頑健なメカニズムを理論・実験の両面から探ってみたいと考えています。
