Beginning with an overview of how the world economy is globalized, the course will progress to the basic language and concepts necessary to understand the discourse on international economics. Students will learn about, and speak and write about various issues in the world economy by looking at specific examples.

現代社会において、計算機の利用法は多岐にわたり、計算機を使いこなすことが現代人の必須条件となっている。たとえばレポート（一般社会では報告書）はワープロで書くことが普通になり、就職情報の取得や資料請求などでインターネットを利用することが多くなっている。この授業では、計算機を文房具代わりとして使いこなせるようになることを目的としている。情報処理に関する初心者を対象にするが、学生生活中必要な事項を学ぶので、できるだけ早い時期に履修することが望ましい。また、この授業では、世界各国に接続されたインターネットの使用法や、それを使用する際に起こり得るトラブルの回避法や情報倫理について学び、実用的文房具としてのワープロ、表計算ソフトの必要最小限の知識が得られるようにする。
