The U.S. UARS satellite and the German ROSAT satellite worried many people because of their large mass – 532 kilograms and 1.6 tonnes respectively – and the possibility that some of that material would hit the ground. Satellite-size debris re-enters the atmosphere on average once or twice a week, though most of these pieces are nowhere near as big as these two satellites.

Prof. Yasuhiro Sawada, who works as a Associate Professor in NUS, and is currently involved in the RCE, guided us to the research centre. Though most of the equipments were still under preparation, we could see that the place is going to hold a lot of researchers (the order of hundreds).

NUSで准教授をされている澤田泰宏先生に、センターを案内していただいた。先生は2000年よりColombia大のProf. Michael Sheetzの研究室にいらっしゃり、2007年からからはシンガポールへ移ってこられ、現在では本Research Centreの一員でもある。個性的な人柄に気圧されたが、シンガポールに定住される日本人研究者としての様々なご意見をうかがえて、貴重であった。まだ準備途中だというラボのフロアを一通り見学させていただいたあと、澤田先生に加え、Prof. Jie、Prof. Shivashankarに、研究内容を簡単に紹介していただいた。細胞外の力が、中の反応系（細胞分裂やガン化に関わる経路など）に伝わっていく様子（Mechanotransductionという）の話や、DNAに接着するタンパク質のイオン濃度依存性の話など、生命現象に対する物理的なアプローチの話をいくつかうかがえた。

Although a PCMCIA card usually requires two power supplies, the diversity of applications for the PCMCIA format opens the range of potential voltage conversions on a card. For example, a wireless PCMCIA card that employs GaAs FETs in the RF transmitter-output stage requires a low-noise negative-bias voltage at -4.1V. The voltage is applied to the gates of the GaAs FET power transistor to bias the device for linear operation. The DC supply must be low-noise, because perturbations at a gate modulate the RF signal and create spurious sidebands.

Again, as on the 500 Superfast, quarter bumpers were provided to each corner, although one example, chassis # 08631, was fitted with a full width rear bumper, and concurrently an amended tail light layout, when refurbished at the factory in 1970. The Borrani wire wheels stayed in place on this model, even though most of the mainstream Ferrari production cars had cast alloy wheels as standard equipment.

500スーパーファストと同じく、365カリフォルニアのテールライトアッセンブリーはこのモデル専用となります。テールの隅が角張っているのでライトユニットも角形をしており、3個の丸形レンズの周りをリフレクターが囲みます。ただし、リフレクターとレンズの色はクルマによって様々に異なります。コーナーバンパーが前後に備わるのも500スーパーファストと同じ。ただし、1970年に大々的なオーバーホールのためにフェラーリファクトリーに戻ったシャシーナンバー08631には、そのときにリアに全幅にわたるバンパーが付けられ、テールライトのレイアウトも変更されています。当時、フェラーリの生産モデルのホイールは主流が鋳造軽合金製に移行しつつありましたが、このモデルではボラーニ製ワイアホイールが標準で備わっていました。
