アンチエイリアス・フィルタ（AAF）は一般にADCの前に置かれますが、簡単な単極RCネットワークから複雑な多極トポロジーまでさまざまなものがあります。いずれの場合も考え方は同じです。つまり、対象となる周波数帯域に折り返す（エイリアスする）可能性のある、不要なノイズやスプリアスを除去することです。AAFを設計したり、使用したりするときは、注意が必要です。フィルタ設計の対象となる帯域（パスバンド）だけでなく、帯域外（ストップバンド）の除去のことも理解しておくべきです。
