クリストファー・ドール氏は2009年10月に、東大との共同提携のうえ、JSPSの博士研究員として国連大学に加わった。彼が主に興味を持つ研究テーマは空間明示データセットを用いた世界的な都市化による社会経済や環境の特性評価を通し持続可能な開発の政策設計に役立てることだ。以前はニューヨークのコロンビア大学やオーストリアの国際応用システム分析研究所（International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis）に従事していた。ドール氏はイギリスで生まれ育ち、ロンドン大学ユニバーシティ・カレッジにてリモートセンシング（遠隔探査）の博士号を取得している。
