The inner sanctuary has 33 statues, the central and most important one being a seated Amida Nyorai Buddha. Under them are buried the four Fujiwara governors. Konjiki-do Hall represents the Land of Perfect Bliss, a Buddhist idea of paradise where pain and suffering do not exist.

곤지키도를 보호하는 오오이도(覆堂)에 한발 들어서면, 황금색으로 빛나는 곤지키도가 눈앞에 나타난다. 전체를 금박으로 바른 외관도장관이지만, 금과 옻, 나전 등으로 장식된 불단과 기둥의 아름다움에도 압도된다. 내진(內陣, 본당)에는 본존아미타여래를 중심으로 33개의 불상이 안치되어 있으며, 그 밑에는 후지와라씨 4대가 묻혀있다. 곤지키도는 쥬손지의 주요부를 만든 초대 후지와라노 기요히라(藤原淸衡)가 고통없는 안락의 세계인 극락정토를 현세에 표현한 것이라고 한다.

Shibayama Nioson Temple was built in 781AD by order of Emperor Konin. The temple started when Fujiwara-no-Tsugutada enshrined the statue of the eleven faced Bodhisattva. During the medieval Period, the temple prospered as an official temple of the Chiba Clan, The temple became big enough to have over 80 branches in the neighborhood.

창건은 나라시대(710-794) 말기의 781년이며, 고닌천황의 칙령에 따라 정동대사(征東大使) 후지와라노 쓰구타다(藤原継縄) 공이 수호 본존인 십일면관음대보살을 안치한 것에서 유래하고 있습니다. 중세에는 지바(千葉) 씨의 기원소로서 번영하여 근처에 80여개의 분원을 둔 큰 절이 되었습니다. 에도시대(1603-1867)에 도쿠가와 막부의 비호를 받아 10만석의 격식을 지닌 사원으로서 관내 10주(간토 지방의 옛 지명 8주에 데와 및 무쓰를 포함)의 덴다이 사원을 통괄했습니다. 서민들 사이에서는 화재와 도둑을 물리치는 '인왕님'이라는 통칭으로 사랑을 받아오고 있습니다.
