Its solemn opening took place on the eve of Victory Day on May 5, 2005. The monument is located at the intersection of Partizansky Avenue and Yeniseyskaya Street. The column is 21 meters high, which is 8 meters higher than it was planned initially. It was cut out of a solid granite piece brought from a Ukrainian quarry. The foot of the column reveals vivid images of war history and partisan movement: partisans' life in the woods and formation of guerrilla groups. The design of the column is devoted to forest motifs with bronze figures of a partisan family gloriously shining atop of the monument.

И вот 5 мая 2005 года, в канун Дня Победы, его открыли. Установлен памятник на пересечении Партизанского проспекта и улицы Енисейской. Высота колонны — 21 метр. На целых 8 метров выше, чем рассчитывали изначально. Каменотесы вырубали ее из цельного гранита, привезенного из карьера в Житомирской области. У подножия колонны раскрываются живые образы истории. В эпизодах борьбы: уход людей в леса, от мала до велика; формирование партизанских отрядов. При этом тема леса пронизывает всю колонну и завершается на пике, где возвышаются бронзовые фигуры партизанской семьи.
