“මහණෙනි, මේ කාම ගුණ පසකි. කවර පසක්ද යත්? ඇසින් බලා දතයුතුවූ ඉෂ්ටවූ කැමති වන්නාවූ මන වඩන්නාවූ ප්‍රිය ස්වභාවය ඇත්තාවූ ඇලීමෙන් යුක්තවූ ඇලුම් කටයුතුවූ යම් රූපයෝ වෙත්ද, කණින් අසා දතයුතුවූ ඉෂ්ටවූ කැමති වන්නාවූ මන වඩන්නාවූ ප්‍රිය ස්වභාවය ඇත්තාවූ ඇලීමෙන් යුක්තවූ ඇලුම් කටයුතුවූ යම් ශබ්දයෝ වෙත්ද, නාසයෙන් විඳ දතයුතුවූ ඉෂ්ටවූ කැමති වන්නාවූ මන වඩන්නාවූ ප්‍රිය ස්වභාවය ඇත්තාවූ ඇලීමෙන් යුක්තවූ ඇලුම් කටයුතුවූ යම් ගන්ධයෝ වෙත්ද, දිවෙන් දැනගත යුතුවූ ඉෂ්ටවූ කැමති වන්නාවූ මන වඩන්නාවූ ප්‍රිය ස්වභාවය ඇත්තාවූ ඇලිය යුතුවූ ඇලුම් කටයුතුවූ යම් රසයෝ වෙත්ද, කයින් දතයුතුවූ ඉෂ්ටවූ කැමති වන්නාවූ මන වඩන්නාවූ ප්‍රිය ස්වභාවය ඇත්තාවූ ඇලීමෙන් යුක්තවූ ඇලුම් කටයුතුවූ යම් ප්‍රෂ්ටව්‍යයෝ වෙත්ද, මහණෙනි, මොහු වනාහී පඤ්චකාම ගුණයෝය. මහණෙනි, යම්කිසි ශ්‍රමණයෝ හෝ බුාහ්මණයෝ හෝ මේ පංචකාමයෙහි බැඳුනාහූ, මූර්ඡා වූවාහූ, ගැළුණාහූ, දොෂය නොදක්නාහූ, එයින් බැහැර වන කල්පනාව නැත්තාහූ කාමයන් සේවනය කරත්ද, ඔවුහූ විපත්තියට පැමිණියාහුය, විනාශයට පැමිණියාහුය, මාරයා විසින් කැමති පරිද්දක් කළ හැකි බවට පැමිණියාහුයයි දතයුතුය.
