Justo estaba comenzando un nuevo grupo de oración en el hospital y me invitaron a participar. Fuí educado en el catolicismo conservador con muy poco contacto con la persona y ministerio del Espíritu Santo. Fuí introducido a la lectura diaria de la Biblia, como parte de mi plan de vida espiritual, en 1976 por sacerdotes del Opus Dei en la Facultad de Medicina de la Universidad de Lagos. Mi contacto con misioneros baptistas en 1979 en el Hospital Baptista de Eku, en el estado del Delta de Nigeria, me impresionó profundamente, especialmente la ternura con la que cuidaban de los enfermos y el sano respeto que tenían por mi fe católica.

El proyecto Weapons comienza a principios del año 2014, con una conversación con Plàcid Garcia-Planas, en la que me explica la existencia de la feria de armamento Eurosatory, cerca de París. Ese mismo año fui a la feria y empecé a buscar el imaginario colectivo sobre armas, con la misma idea que en mis trabajos sobre el turismo masivo, donde enseño lo normalizado como fondo, para provocar al espectador con la forma y situándolo entre lo que es “bueno” y lo que es “malo”, entre lo inmoral y lo moral; para provocar al final una reflexión sobre las actitudes humanas perjudiciales.
