The We Jazz DJ collective consists of Eero Löyttyjärvi and Matti Nives with occasional visits by friends. Their record bag is filled with jazz sounds from the beginning of the genre to this day with a special focus on the raw sound of 60’s club jazz.

DJ-kollektivet We Jazz DJs består av Eero Löyttyjärvi och Matti Nives. Bland skivorna i vinylväskan kan man hitta jazz från genrens början till samtiden, med ett fokus på på 60-talets råa klubbsound. Löyttyjärvi kan höras på lördagar kl. 14-16 i radioprogrammet Lauantaijazzit på Bassoradio, medan Nives medverkar i Jazz kiinnostaa kl. 12 på söndagar på Radio Helsinki.

My research concerns systematics, phylogeny and biogeography of flowering plants, with a special focus on plants in the Horn of Africa region. One of the ongoing projects concerns the mapping of distributions of all tree species in this region.

Min forskning rör blomväxternas systematik, fylogeni och biogeografi med ett speciellt fokus på växter i området kring Afrikas horn. Ett pågående samarbetsprojekt syftar till att kartera utbredningen av alla trädarter i detta område. I övrigt har vi ett taxonomiskt fokus framför allt på ärtväxter (Fabaceae) och på ordningen Caryophyllales. Av särskilt intresse för oss är biologiska "hotspots" med koncentrationer av endemiska arter, liksom växtgrupper med stora och svårförklarliga luckor (disjunktioner) i sina utbredningar. Ett exempel på detta är de transatlantiska disjunktioner som upptäcks i allt fler grupper av växter.

In 2011 Approximately 42 million persons around the world were forcibly displaced according UNHCR, of which almost 50 % were children. The political and moral issues related to migration can be seen as some of the greatest philosophical and political challenges of our time but little research has so far been done with a special focus on the moral and political status of children in relation to migration and borders. Even though a significant part of persons in migration are children, migration research as well as philosophical research have traditionally paid little interest to children as subjects in their own right. Children are usually mentioned at the margins and when they are mentioned they are traditionally portrayed as subordinated to the parents regarding e.g. decision-making and responsibilities, as passive, vulnerable and in need of special protection.
