Artist and designer Petri Saarikko introduced the use of the Atwink geographic information application to the children in order to process the memory theme. Atwink is a graphic application, which makes it possible to immediately virtualise and locate a drawing made by hand. Atwink geographically pinpoints drawings sent via a mobile phone to the Internet and marks the spot in real time on the map at atwink.org. Pupils aged between 8 and 10 years drew and sent their drawings to the website in four different locations around Helsinki. The exhibition shows what went on in each location.

By the beginning of the 1970s, the number of visitors had doubled in accordance with the prediction made at the roof-raising ceremony and today 90 000 visitors a year call in during their stay in Lapland. For many groups the crossing of the Arctic Circle is a ceremonial occasion which leaves an unforgettable memory.

Two EU vehicles travelling to their shift on the frontier crossing between Kosovo and Serbia came under fire at about 7:30 am. A Lithuanian customs officer travelling in one of the vehicles was killed in the incident. Other members of the civilian crisis management mission were injured in the incident. They are now in hospital care.

The work, located along the motorway opposite the Nokia Headquarters, comprises a 200-metre-long rock cutting as well as a series of boulders, protective fences, walls and lighting. The boulder installation is a kind of memory trace of the changes that have occurred in the landscape. The rock mass was removed with the so-called 'precision-blasting method', which involves examining and estimating the expected directions in cleavage of the rock. Both artistic and technical solutions had to be made simultaneously in regard to the relation between different types of granite and in order to estimate the consequences and possible negative effects of the detonations. The aim was to create a rock art and environmental totality that takes into account the essence of the rock on the site and its visual meaning, and to add life to the landscape that 60, 000 vehicles pass by each day.

The indicator includes road traffic accidents involving personal injury known to police and reported by police to Statistics Finland.

Road traffic accident is an event having lead to personal injury or damage to property that has taken place in an area intended for public transport or generally used for transport and in which at least one of the involved parties has been a moving vehicle. In addition to the vehicles specified in the Road Traffic Act, such party can also be a tram and in level crossing accidents a train. The falling down of a pedestrian is not a traffic accident, but that of a rider of a bicycle (= vehicle) is.
