The company said that communities expected it to be involved in local activities. The company noted that community-based education and training activities supported by the project were often brought up by communities in discussions with the company. The company also said that it provided funding to Aboriginal groups so they could begin to develop businesses that could service all pipeline companies or other infrastructure, not just Northern Gateway.
