FEMISE - Euro-Mediterranean Forum of Institutes of Economic Sciences (France)
FEMISE is another large network created as the ANIMA network within the framework of the Barcelona process which develops cooperation in the field of economic research.
It carries out a large number of activities that include, but are not limited to:
- Conducting research on issues related to the Euromed partnership, neighbourhood policy and the Union for the Mediterranean;
- Providing platforms for policy dialogues to discuss and debate among stakholders issues of relevance to the EuroMed region;
- Disseminating the results of this research through conferences, workshops, publishing research papers and newsletters.
In an evolving regional climate, it seemed natural for FEMISE and ANIMA to team up, since both networks share the same values and have complementary experiences and know-how. ANIMA and FEMISE aim to pool their skills to jointly develop comprehensive intervention mechanisms in the field of economic development, from diagnosis to implementation of recommendations on the ground.
AMP - Metropole Aix-Marseille Provence (France)
Aix-Marseille Provence is the largest metropolis in France. It gathers 92 municipalities over 3,173 km2 and 1.83 million inhabitants.
Created very recently, its main skills are : economic, social and cultural development and planning, development of the metropolitan area, local housing policy, urban policy, management of services of collective interest, protection and promotion of the environment and living conditions.
ANIMA and the AMP Metropole intend to cooperate on the influence of Marseille in the Mediterranean, and the attraction of Mediterranean companies on the metropolitan territory.
