This past year has been one of loss and sadness but also one of profound growth. With the support of the community behind me, I have done my best to fill my heart with love. Finding joy in life is how Miss Emma and I honour Fabrice. Being together and celebrating his loving spirit is how I believe he would want to be remembered.

Jeff said he had had no idea what the older generation went through and wished that every young Canadian could have the experience he had in order to be able to pass on the stories and keep alive the appreciation for all the sacrifices that were made. “It’s absolutely essential for everyone to realize how great it is to be a Canadian.”

The Advisory Panel's advice does not appear to have had much influence on the research activities. It has not been asked to provide such guidance because all but the smallest of the projects are managed within consortia.

The effect of section 13(1) is to limit to $5,000 the farming losses which a taxpayer may claim as a deduction in a taxation year. The appellant's farming losses exceeded this amount in the years 1968 and 1969. He contends that his chief source of income for those taxation years was either farming or a combination of farming and some other source of income, and therefore the constraint of the section does not apply to him. In an alternative argument, he submits that s. 13(1) is meaningless and incomprehensible; therefore, it should not be applied to his detriment. In effect, he would have us write the section out of the Act. I do not think we can accede to that submission. We

Mr. Scott Reid, Member of Parliament for Lanark–Carleton, objects to the Commission's decision to include the Town of Mississippi Mills within the proposed electoral district of CARLETON–LANARK. He wants to keep all the municipalities of Lanark County (including Mississippi Mills) within the same electoral district. In order to do so, while maintaining appropriate population numbers, he proposes that part of the former Rideau Township (now within the City of Ottawa) be moved from the proposed electoral district of NEPEAN–CARLETON to the proposed CARLETON–LANARK (which would need a new name if it did not include any portion of Lanark County) and that the Township of South Frontenac be moved from the proposed electoral district of LANARK–FRONTENAC–LENNOX AND ADDINGTON to that of LEEDS–GRENVILLE.

Baddd Spellah finds it very hard to write convincingly about himself in the 3rd person and not sound insincere or pretentious. He had hoped that inspiration would strike and bestow upon him some wry and witty words for this personal account but instead he copped out with this evasive literal obfuscation. Its an obvious tactic to obscure his identity and hide behind a mask of anonymity. While he’d like to think this creates a certain mystique its probably more accurate to say that his real life is not interesting enough to warrant summing up in this block of text and wishes his music to speak for itself.

But agriculture was only one of the intendant’s concerns, for he dreamed of the total exploitation of the country. Working under the orders of a minister concerned with manufactures, and encouraged by the presence of the skilled workers who constituted the bulk of the immigrants, Talon found himself in the most favourable circumstances for the development of industry. He ordered research to be done on the most varied resources, had an oak timber survey carried out and had borings made in various places to find metals; he oversaw the yield of the fisheries, and spared no effort in order to set people to work upon products and by-products. He encouraged commerce, being anxious to bring about regular trade between Acadia and Canada; he even attempted to trade with the far distant West Indies. He would have liked New France not only to be self-sufficient, but also to supply the mother country with raw materials and, better still, finished products.
